Our Story

A spectacular culmination of a three year community project
Including horses, music, theatre and dance.

In 2016 classically trained Singer and Rider, Kate Walker, in collaboration with Writer, Jayne Newton Chance and Musician / Composer, Judy Whitlock embarked on an ambitious journey to create a brand new theatrical project involving horses, riders, musicians and community members. Over a period of 3 years, and inspired by a series of workshops involving different horse demonstrations, an original and unique show has evolved.

Alongside the workshops, our writer, Jayne Newton Chance has produced text from interviews with horse lovers which have then been set to music by our Musical Director, Judy Whitlock. Some of the final pieces have been written and composed entirely by our participants.

During this period we have also held art workshops led by Equine Artist, Meier Williams, enabling us to produce an exibition of art work on the day of the show.

It has been an extraordinary journey with 14 workshops and the inclusion of many local participants. We have been fortunate enough to involve Plymouth Acro Yoga, East Cornwall Pony Club, Samba Kernow,  Liskerrett, Sterts Singers and Lanreath Choir in our final show.

The project has reached out to a huge cross section off our local community.
